Denim....the new dress pant

Okay...

 

....I know ...it's scary....spending close $200 or more on a pair of jeans.

 

What women today don't realize....is that denim is the "new dress pant".  Yes...you still need a pair of black dress pants for certain occassions but having a GREAT pair of jeans is essential for a contemporary lady....working or nonworking (ha-ha....as if there is such a thing).

However, most of you just can't seem to rationalize spending the bucks on denim. 

Let me help you to understand the rationalization behind this kind of purchase and also why it is smart.

• How many times do you wear denim in a week?....a month?....a year?

If you look at the number of times that you wear your denim....you will probably see that the overall cost is so minimal for a GREAT pair of jeans....that you'll laugh that you haven't done this before.

See if you purchase a pair of $200 jeans and wear them once a week....the cost is about 3.85 per wear.  You know...the same as about one gallon of gas....but I'm guessing the denim will get you much farther!

You'll look good, feel better about your denim and no doubt learn that sometimes it pays to dish out the bucks.

I'm convinced...Premium Denim has  place in every girl's closet.

So....?  Stop harrassing yourself about the price and realize...that if you wear what's in your closet...then that's worth the money.  

 You have a choice....a closet full of inexpensive clothing that you're not wearing or just don't get any enjoyment out of....or a closet filled with a few great pieces to compliment the inexpensive ones that you absolutely love wearing!

 

 

The perfect vacation sandals...

Comfortable and easy to wear sandals are a must for a vacation....I mean,...there is nothing worse than feet that hurt when you're trying to relax and have a good time.  And...we are talking vacation right?....relax?..have a good time?...remember what that is like?

I find that the Ugg Sandals are one of the most comfy out there.  They feel great fromd the moment that you put them on....nice and soft.  Several styles make it easy to find one that suits your personality.

Taking advantage of the Sales

Okay...you got the fireworks and the barbeque is ready!  And ...it's a well known fact....Spring and Summer Merchandise will be on sale everywhere this week!  This is definitely when you should take a good look to see what your wardrobe is missing and get out there and get it ....on sale of course.  Maybe you just need a little freshening up to make it to the end of summer....go to see your favorite salesperson so he or she can help you to pull together a few items that will create some excitement in your wardrobe....even when the humidity and the thermometer reach ridiculously high!  Better yet....maybe that piece that you loved but found the pricetag a little too much for your wallet has gone on sale....What are you waiting for?

Tees please....

It's almost as much of an American icon as denim.  Tees that fit well and give an inkling about something we are passionate about  or maybe a clue to our personality or hobby are fashion staples for today's female on the go.  No longer a slave to the "baggy tee" of yesterday, the selections are limited only by your imagination.

One of our favorite lines is Coin....made in the good ole USA, soft and comfy and with loads of personality.

Mad about Penguins?....try the Penguin tee...and more!

But more importantly...don't just wear a tee..."Wear" a tee!

Buy what you love!

?????oh....but I really like it!

I see it everyday....it's not easy to see that when we try something on...and we truly love it and it fits beautifully....we should not stress about the Price.   Now I know... the "b" word...you know...budget!  No doubt, we are all there...looking for the best deals, getting the most for your hard earned cash. 

But look at your closet, at your home....the things that you enjoy the most, could be the purchases that cost you the most. Now...I'm not saying to break the bank, but rather than just ruling something out because of the price...consider if it will be a quality purchase.  Is it something that will bring you joy?  More importantly...is it something that you will wear often? If so...that means getting the most for your dollars.  It's something that you will look forward to finding in your closet, rather than those discount items that only lasted a couple of wearings. 

Fashion Rule:  If it fits well, and you love it....don't stress over the dollar amount.  More than likely, you find that you closet will fill with items that you love and look forward to wearing. 

Mad about JWLA

The Natural Girl

I'm a bit of an uncomplicated girl when it comes to fashion and life in general...(but not to far from the conveniences of life!) so no doubt I love the Natural , exotic and Safari looks for this season.  It just doesn't get much easier than a pair of leather sandals.  Of course, the Gladiator style is extremely popular now.

Chic to be cheap!

I think that it's really funny!....I mean all of a sudden, it's chic to be cheap!  Well..usually that's only if no one knows how cheap you actually are.

Yes...there is an art to the trend.  Mixing and matching the "great stuff" with the "good stuff".  So what this means is taking that fun little tee and pairing it with your designer denim or the fun shoe to spice up that little black dress!   

Easy peasy!  It's a super way to add variety and a little fun interest to your wardrobe. 

I am a person who appreciates Quality in clothing...the fabric, the feel, the craftsmanship.

But sometimes..it's just fun to be cheap....I mean chic!

The Beautiful Wedge

Yes....I'm partial....I mean to the "wedge" .  You know, wedge shoes, the ones that you can actually walk in and make you feel taller.  Even better is that they're one of the "hot" styles for this spring & summer. 

I know....there are plenty of ladies who "live" for the stilettos.  And with the reinvention of "Sex and the City"...it will surely become a huge fashion statement again...but just think...You can walk from the car to the restaurant for the business lunch without your little heel getting into the cracks of the sidewalk.  You can comfortably walk down the hall of the school after the PTA meeting.

Stilletto in Disguise 

I love the Ugg Wedge that I call the "Stilletto in Disguise".  It appears to be a stiletto as you're walking because of the unique wooden cutout.  Studded detail along the sole adds interest without being over the top.
